Holi Special | Mawa/Khoya Gujiya





Ingredients:

  • 1 Bowl All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1 Bowl Khoya/Mawa (Crumbled)
  • 1 Bowl Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Almond (Powdered)
  • 1 Bowl Dry Coconut (Grated)
  • 1 tsp Green Cardamon Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil


Method

  1. Mix All purpose Flour and oil in a bowl. Rub it into flour using your fingertips and mix well.
  2. Now knead stiff dough just like puri by adding little water at a time.
  3. Dough is ready. Now keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  4. For stuffing mix Mawa, Powdered sugar, Grated Coconut, Powdered Almonds and Green Cardamon Powder together. Mix well using hands. Stuffing is ready.
  5. Now we'll start making Mawa Gujiya.
  6. Knead the dough again and make small round balls from the dough. Now roll it using rolling pin like puri .
  7. Now cover the gujiya cast with dry flour and then put flattened dough on the gujiya cast. Put some mixture on it 
  8. Apply mixture of water and flour on the sides and close and press the cast. Remove the residual dough. Open the cast and take out the gujiya.
  9. Cover the gujiyas with thick cloth and prepare all the gujiyas just like this.
  10. Heat oil in a wok and put 3-4 gujiyas at a time and fry while turning them till they turn light brown on medium flame.
  11. Gujiya is ready. Take it out and put them on tissue paper to remove excess oil.
  12. Mawa Gujiya is ready to serve. Happy Holi Everyone.

Blend anjeer and khajoor in blender to make paste. Cook anjeer khajoor mixture on low flame for 5 minutes till they turn soft and mushy. Add all the dry fruits in the mixture and mix well. Transfer the mixture to greased box and keep it in fridge for 2 hours. Cut square pieces of Anjeer Barfi. Serve with anything that you like.
