- 1 cup Arhar Dal/Toor Dal
- 1 tbsp Desi Ghee/Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- A pinch of Asafoetida
- 6-7 cloves of Garlic
- 2 Small Piece of Ginger
- 1 Green Chilli
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- Coriander Leaves - For Garnishing
Method:
- Soak Arhar Dal in water for 10-15 minutes.
- In a pressure cooker, add 1 tbsp Desi Ghee or Oil.
- Now add 1 tsp cumin seeds and a pinch of Asafoetida.
- Make paste of Garlic, ginger and green chilli.
- When Cumin Seeds starts crackling, add paste of ginger-garlic-green chilli. Saute it for 1-2 Minutes.
- Now add dry spices (Turmeric Powder,red chilli powder and Salt). Mix well.
- When masala is prepared, add soaked Arhar Dal.
- Mix well and add 1 Glass of Water.
- Pressure cook it for upto 2 whistles.
- Add lemon juice for flavour.
- Garnish it with Coriander leaves and desi ghee.
- Serve it hot with Makki ki roti and jaggery.
